This Grade 1 Listed pumping station was built by Sir Joseph Bazalgette in 1865, and contains possibly the largest remaining rotative beam engines in the world, set in a Romanesque style engine house featuring some of the most spectacular ornamental Victorian cast ironwork to be found today.

This former waterworks, which supplied North London with drinking water taken from the Thames, houses the world's largest fully operational triple expansion steam engine, the "Sir William Prescott". Each year they host an arts, crafts and hobbies weekend which includes a Meccano display.
